The T-65B X-Wing Starfighter was the backbone of the Rebel Alliance’s Navy during the Galactic Civil War, playing a pivotal role in restoring peace throughout the galaxy. The Incom Corporation originally developed the X-Wing Starfighter at the request of the Empire, who sought a new single-seater starfighter for their growing naval fleet. The X-Wing’s design borrows aspects of the Z-95 Headhunter and ARC-170 Starfighter used by the Republic during the Clone Wars, refined to the specifications of the Empire. The production of the Imperial X-Wing was short-lived, as the Empire backed out of their deal with Incom, instead choosing the much cheaper TIE Series to fill out their ranks. This failed deal left the Incom Corporation with an army’s worth of brand-new unsold starfighters, leading to a mutually beneficial contract with the Rebel Alliance. The X-Wing would soon partake in the destruction of both Death Stars, bringing about the end of the Galactic Civil War. This Vehicle Model rendition of the X-Wing Starfighter includes marking stickers to recreate Red Squadron 5, Luke Skywalker’s callsign designation during the Battle of Yavin.
