This kit is the HGAC Altron Gundam, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. Based on the general release HGUC Shenlong Gundamwith a number of newly sculpted parts added. Since most of the exterior is made up of new parts, it comes out looking almost like an entirely new kit.
The basic joint structure is the same as the Shenlong Gundam, so it still delivers excellent articulation and joint strength. The Dragon Hang, which was previously only on one arm, is now mounted on both arms, and can be deployed and extended with the same method as before. The Dragon Hang joints hold firmly at any angle, and the beam cannon on the back is also multi-jointed, allowing it to be aimed toward the front. The wings can be expanded and move flexibly in all directions, so you can pose them however you like.
The weapons include a Twin Beam Trident with beam parts, and a stored version of the parts is also provided separately. The Twin Beam Trident connects well with the palm peg, so grip issues shouldn't be a concern.
It's been 29 years since the old 1/144 came out in 1995, and this HG release was well worth the wait — it comes packed with plenty of new sculpting and great overall quality. If you're a fan of the Wing series and the Altron Gundam design, this looks like a kit you'll have a great time building. :-)
