Expert Review

This kit is the Gundam Base limited MG GM Sniper Custom (Mobile Suit Z Gundam Ver.). It's based on the standard release MG GM Sniper Customwith the molded colors changed to the Z Gundam MSV color version — so it's a straight-up color variant with no new tooling.

As such, all the contents and structural features are identical to the original, and being based on the MG Gundam ver. 2.0, it still shows excellent build quality. Just like the old 1/144 RGM-79 GM Sniper Customreleased back in 1985, it's done up in an olive drab-style colorway. The color combination is less complex than the original, which can make it look a bit plain, but it does give off a stronger military weapon vibe. And to pull off the new color scheme, four runners are included as duplicates, bumping the price up ¥800 to ¥4,800.

So while it's a simple color variant, it's still a quality kit — if you're into a more army-style colorway, it's definitely worth recommending. :-)
