Expert Review

The Light-Type Guncannon has been released as the 6th HG kit from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX." Unlike the classic, bulky Guncannon, it lives up to its name with a slimmer design — essentially the same body concept as the Red Gundam, but fitted with just a single beam cannon.

The basic build quality is also HG Red Gundamvery similar. Despite being polycap-less, it still has a smooth, satisfying feel both when building and posing. That said, the skirt structure limits hip articulation a bit, and the shoulder joints tend to pop out during posing from time to time due to how they're constructed. As long as you keep that in mind, posing is pretty comfortable overall.

Weapons include a beam rifle and beam saber, and only 2 hand types are included — an open hand and a weapon-holding hand. True to the Guncannon lineage, there's no shield or other accessories. All in all, it's a clean, well-done kit that captures the Witch from Mercury style Guncannon nicely. Build quality is solid and stable, so if the design suits your taste, it's definitely worth recommending. :-)
