Expert Review

Gundam 00 Sky has been released as the 14th HG kit in the Build Divers lineup. It reuses one runner from the existing HG 00 Gundam, but the design is largely made up of new parts and feels like a genuinely fresh take. Even if the concept looks similar, the design itself has been completely revamped.

First off, the basic frame is nearly identical to the HG 00, so you get great articulation and solid joint strength. Deploy the Buster Sword and Long Rifle stored behind each shoulder, and you can pull off some seriously dynamic poses reminiscent of Destiny Gundam. You can also lay the backpack back and adjust the feet, forearms, and shoulder wings to configure it into the Lash Position. One thing to watch out for — the hinges that fold and unfold the Buster Sword and Long Rifle feel a bit on the weak side, so you'll want to be careful during assembly and posing.

As a new 00 Gundam with a fresh design and new gimmicks, this is a fantastic Gunpla with no major complaints — definitely one I'd recommend to just about anyone. :-)
