The new generation of “Musha Gundam” proudly enters the battle with Kirahagane!
  • Kirahagane is an application of in-mold molding technology that performs injection molding and film attachment at the same time.
  • Pay attention to the contrast created by the clear parts' loose feel and the colored molding of Kira Steel.
  • Kira steel is also used for the sword. The stance of drawing a sword can be reproduced by the range of motion of the elbow.

Expert Review

--- SD Gundam World Heroes — General Notes ----------------- This is a TV anime produced in 2021 as a follow-up to Sangoku Soketsuden, and true to its title "World Heroes," it draws inspiration from heroes across different eras. The plastic model line follows the same concept as Sangoku Soketsuden, and even reuses the same shared frame runners from that series. On top of that, the parts layout and material feel are identical, so it's honestly not much of a stretch to just call it another entry in the Sangoku Soketsuden model line rather than a true successor.

Also like the Sangoku Soketsuden kits, these are made at Bandai's Chinese factory rather than the Shizuoka factory, and the plastic still feels hard and stiff to assemble. That said, the intricate molding and color separation give you a great-looking straight build, and the price feels pretty reasonable for what you get. ------------------------------------------------------

This kit is SD Gundam World Heroes No. 36, SD Musha Gundam The 78th. It shares the same overall concept as the simultaneously released SD Gundam World Heroes Onmitsu Gundam Aerial— it includes an in-mold colored Kirahagane runner, and was released as a Shizuoka factory kit rather than a Chinese factory kit.

Thanks to that, the plastic feels smooth and the assembly and articulation are pleasant — though the articulation is still pretty limited, making dynamic poses a challenge, which is pretty typical for an SD kit. The only weapon included is a single sword called "Muhwihwan," and there are no other accessories or bonus parts, so the contents feel a little sparse. On the plus side, you can do a crossover with the eyepatch and Shisha from the SD Onmitsu Gundam Aerial.

Compared to the SD Legend BB Musha Gundamreleased in 2012, the armor pieces are larger overall and the detail work is more refined. The Kirahagane parts and seals make the visuals feel much more striking. As a modernized reimagining of Musha Gundam, this is definitely worth recommending to anyone who's a fan of the Musha Gundam series. :-)
